My Lord,

Colonial Department:109

Government House, Victoria,

(Hongkong) February 2nd, 1844

By my Despatch No. 19, of the 4th of September last, I informed your Lordships, that I was awaiting further

Instructions regarding the creation of a Church in this Colony.

A number of Individuals had subscribed above a year ago, for Building a Church, which the Chaplain of one of Her Majesty's Ships latterly performed Divine Service every Sunday.

The Building in question had fallen into a state of great disrepair previous to the arrival of the Rev.

The Right Honorable Lord Stanley,
